Cosmetic procedures have long been associated with women. However, it is becoming increasingly accepted that men also seek cosmetic enhancement treatments and laser facial hair removal for men is one such procedure. The common treatment areas are just about any part of the face. Some men will have their upper lip and chins treated to keep their face look more neat and trimmed permanently. This means no more five o’clock shadows in those areas that have been treatment.

Other areas that are commonly treated are the eyebrows for men who have uni-brows or excessively bushy brows. In some less common cases, the bottom tip of the side burns are treated to maintain their desired look much more permanently than the traditional shaving. The use of laser hair treatment is still overtly more popular among women since it is more commonly acceptable for a man to have body hair than women.

Facial hair laser removal is a little more particular than anywhere else on the body because of the risk of causing damage to the eye. For this reason goggles are used to protect the patient from any potential damage caused by an errant laser pulse. Using a laser to remove hair is otherwise a very safe procedure when used properly. To be eligible for laser treatment the patient must not have dark skin or light hair. Other possible side effects include skin irritation or even burns if the laser is left in spot for too long or the patient’s skin is too dark for the procedure to work properly.

The cost of laser hair removal for male patients is typically higher than women because of the size and thickness of the individual hair follicles. The method of hair treatment uses a laser to heat up the root of the hair follicle to the point where the hair is damaged beyond any possibility of growing back.
